چکیده
Mavi ışık insan gözünün görebildiği, görünür spektrumunun bir parçasıdır. 380 ile 500 nanometre aralığında titreşen, spektrumunda en kısa dalga boyuna ve yüksek enerjiye sahip olan bu ışık, ışığın yaklaşık üçte birini oluşturur.
 
 bilgisayarlarda, telefonlarda, tabletlerde, televizyonlarda bulunan ışıktır. Bu gibi elektronik aletlerin dışında ise güneşte de mavi bulunur. iyi kötü olmak üzere iki türü vardır. Bilgisayardan, telefondan, tabletten televizyon cihazlardan alınan zararlı iken güneşten aldığımız belirli miktarda alındığı zaman faydalıdır.
 özellikle gözün retina tabakası için toksik olabilmektedir. ışığa maruz kalmak retinada fototoksiteye neden olarak yaşa bağlı maküla hastalığına (sarı nokta hastalığı da bilinir) yol açar. Korunma için, filtrelemesi içeren ekran koruyucular, gözlükler, intraoküler lensler kullanılmaktadır konu ilgili çalışmalar devam etmektedir.
